The PAT & Data Analytics Team at GlaxoSmithKline Services Unlimited is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist / Chemometrician to join their ranks. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing chemometrics and data analytics models to accelerate process development, enhance process understanding, and perform real-time process & quality monitoring.
In this role, you will work closely with R&D Scientists, Formulators, Process Technologists, and PAT Engineers to contextualize your modeling activities. You will also have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the data you will analyze by participating in and supporting experimental design deployment during developmental studies, clinical, and commercial campaigns.
The ideal candidate will have a suitable scientific or engineering degree and experience in the application of data analytics solutions for pharmaceutical products. They will be a team player with a hands-on, responsible, and compliant approach to Quality, Safety, EHS, and cGMP. A passion for data and its use to improve process and product performance is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define requirements for the deployment of data analytics/chemometric models in the manufacturing environment.
- Liaise with R&D chemometricians and other functions to deploy chemometric models in the manufacturing environment.
- Contribute to the definition of processes, guidance, and procedures for chemometric models maintenance and review across the product lifecycle.
- Translate chemometric models using relevant software platforms or writing custom programs.
- Support the integration of chemometric modeling with other data science disciplines and platforms to maximize opportunities to accelerate the portfolio and enhance process robustness.
- Stay current with new chemometric and other data science modeling techniques through publications, conferences, and academic and precompetitive collaborations.
- Work closely with Statistical Sciences to develop the best in-silico experimental design and assess model uncertainty and model predictive confidence limits.
