Job Title: Dedicated Learning Support Specialist for Children with Diverse Needs

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Learning Mentor at a specialist school in Waltham Forest.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work with children and young people aged 3-19 years who have diverse learning needs. As a Learning Mentor, you will provide one-on-one and small group support to students, assisting them in achieving their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide tailored support to students with Autism, ADHD, PMLD, and other special educational needs.
  2. Assist in developing and implementing individualised learning plans to meet the unique needs of each student.
  3. Support students' social, emotional, and academic development through targeted interventions.
  4. Collaborate with teachers and parents to ensure comprehensive support and achieve optimal outcomes.
Requirements:
  1. Prior experience working with children and young people with special educational needs, including Autism, ADHD, and PMLD.
  2. Knowledge of strategies to support communication, social skills, and sensory needs.
  3. Experience adapting teaching methods to meet varied cognitive abilities.
  4. Competency in using specialised teaching methods to improve literacy skills.
  5. Familiarity with Dyspraxia and provision of support for motor skills development and coordination.
