Dedicated Learning Support Specialist for Children with Diverse Needs

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Learning Mentor at a specialist school in Waltham Forest.
About the Role:This is an exciting opportunity to work with children and young people aged 3-19 years who have diverse learning needs. As a Learning Mentor, you will provide one-on-one and small group support to students, assisting them in achieving their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide tailored support to students with Autism, ADHD, PMLD, and other special educational needs.
- Assist in developing and implementing individualised learning plans to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Support students' social, emotional, and academic development through targeted interventions.
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to ensure comprehensive support and achieve optimal outcomes.
- Prior experience working with children and young people with special educational needs, including Autism, ADHD, and PMLD.
- Knowledge of strategies to support communication, social skills, and sensory needs.
- Experience adapting teaching methods to meet varied cognitive abilities.
- Competency in using specialised teaching methods to improve literacy skills.
- Familiarity with Dyspraxia and provision of support for motor skills development and coordination.
- A competitive salary range of £25,000 - £32,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
