Role Overview

As a Quantity Surveyor / Supply Chain professional, you will play a key role in supporting the Commercial and Procurement Management Team in the energy power sector. Your responsibilities will include developing effective commercial strategies, contract procurement, and commercial administration of contracts during the execution phase to ensure the safe delivery of value for money solutions for our clients' programmes, projects, and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development of commercial strategies, including acquisition and contracting at programme, project, and category levels.
  • Produce high-quality tender documentation, including collation of works information and other contract documents.
  • Manage and monitor progress of variations or RFQs (Request for Quotations).
  • Assess and value contractors' applications and process payment certificates in accordance with contractual terms and conditions.
  • Administer the Early Warning process.
  • Ensure contractual deliverables are met.
  • Review contractor deliveries, including attending valuation and progress review meetings.
  • Monitor and report on commercial aspects of contracts/procurement activities and flag issues at the earliest opportunity.
  • Provide advice and information on contract changes, including proposed scope changes, and produce required documentation.
  • Prepare commercial cost reports and progress measurements.
  • Compile Supplier Performance and Lessons Learnt Reports.
Qualifications and Experience

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor / Supply Chain professional with a strong background in commercial management, contract administration, and procurement. The ideal candidate will have experience working in the energy power sector, with a focus on renewable energy and energy transition projects.

  • Experience of working in a commercial environment, with a focus on contract administration and procurement.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard procurement practices and contract management methodologies.
  • Experience of producing high-quality tender documentation and managing contract variations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body, such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
