The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant science or a closely related field, full CIEEM Membership, and relevant professional ecological experience.

Key responsibilities will include undertaking and leading UK Habitat Classification Surveys and protected species surveys, as well as experience of undertaking BNG Assessments and production of Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans (HMMPs).

The successful candidate will also have the ability to write clear and concise reports, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs), Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA), mitigation strategies, enhancement plans, and European Protected Species licence applications.

We offer a competitive salary, generous CPD allocation, payment of professional membership fees, and a range of benefits, including TOIL/financial remuneration during survey season, 20 days annual leave, and enhanced pension contribution.

Key Requirements:

  • A degree in a relevant science or a closely related field.
  • Full CIEEM Membership (or be eligible).
  • Relevant professional ecological experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of undertaking and leading UK Habitat Classification Surveys and protected species surveys.
  • Experience of undertaking BNG Assessments and production of Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans (HMMPs).
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports.
  • A broad skillset, ideally holding at least 2 protected species licences.
  • A thorough understanding of UK and EU legislation, planning policy, and best practice.
  • Experience in running your own projects and being client-facing.
