At Babcock International Group, we're working to create a safe and secure world, together. As a Senior Structural Analysis Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in leading the qualification of outstanding in-design and in-service solutions.

The Role

As a Senior Structural Analysis Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll create significant value by leveraging your skills and experience to lead yourself and others in the qualification of submarine and surface ship component resistance to shock, vibration, fatigue, and pressure loading in accordance with relevant design codes and customer-agreed analysis methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Originate and check structural analysis calculations, finite element analysis (FEA), and reports in relation to the qualification of submarine and surface ship component resistance.
  • Perform finite element modelling and analysis using software such as Ansys and/or LS-Dyna.
  • Work with a team to develop and implement structural analysis methodologies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with relevant design codes and customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience in origination and checking of structural analysis hand calculations and familiarity with design codes.
  • Experience in origination and checking of structural finite element modelling and analysis, and proficiency in the use of FEA software.
  • Experience with software such as Teamcenter, Mathcad/Prime, and NX.
  • Ability to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance.
