Vox Network Consultants is seeking a highly skilled Planning Officer Expert to join our team. As an essential member of our Development Management department, you will be responsible for ensuring that development projects are processed efficiently and in accordance with statutory and legal obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • ">
  • The successful candidate will provide expert advice on planning policies, standards, and relevant government legislation and guidance.">
  • The role involves assisting in adding value to the service delivered, developing and implementing best practice, and providing customer-focused standards in a regulatory environment.">
  • Ensure that duties are carried out in accordance with the Council's policies and Code of Conduct, with full regard to the Council's Equal Opportunities Policy.">
  • The administrative and technical procedures required to deal with tasks under the Planning Acts, Orders, and Regulations, must be carried out, and work outcomes must be of sufficiently high standard to comply with any systems in place to demonstrate quality.">
  • Correspondence and discussions with the public and Council officers or other appropriate people must be undertaken as required for the determination of applications.">
  • Necessary and effective consultation and liaison must be undertaken to facilitate the effective involvement of local interest and statutory bodies and other Council services with regard to Development Management matters.">
  • The selected candidate will progress a range of applications under the Planning Acts and negotiate planning agreements as required.">

Requirements

  • A relevant qualification in Town Planning or equivalent which supports membership of the RTPI or a graduate qualification in a related discipline.">
  • Able and willing to attend meetings or undertake work outside normal working hours, e.g., evening meetings.">
  • Ability to promote and implement equal opportunities in accordance with Council guidelines.">
  • Ability to understand plans and drawings and other relevant technical information related to planning applications and projects.">
  • Knowledge of planning issues as they affect the inner city.">
  • Knowledge of Best Practice.">

Salary and Benefits

">

The salary for this position is £55,000 - £75,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
