Job Opportunity in Nuclear Medicine

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Staff Nurse to join our Nuclear Medicine department at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.

The successful candidate will provide support to our team, assisting with radionuclide administrations and freeing up our technologists, radiographers, and nurses to focus on clinical trials.

We offer comprehensive training and full support from our substantive nursing team, ensuring a smooth transition into this role.

Please note that this post is not suitable for applicants who require OSCE training or do not have current valid UK NMC registration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer radioactive and non-radioactive pharmaceuticals for Nuclear Medicine imaging and non-imaging investigations.
  • Participate in nuclear cardiology stressing services, working with Clinical Nurse Specialists, Clinical Technologists, and Consultants.
  • Promote a patient-focused, multidisciplinary approach to caring for patients and their carers in the Nuclear Medicine department.
  • Demonstrate technical and practical skills for optimum patient management, including complex patient monitoring, equipment management, and administration for tests and procedures.
  • Provide nursing advice and support to the multi-disciplinary team within the department.
  • Act as a resource, offering support for other healthcare professionals in primary, community, and secondary care.
  • Utilize information and IT systems to secure accurate and timely patient and resource data, maintaining patient records and adhering to the IT policy.
  • Maintain and promote a clean, safe environment, ensuring adherence to Trust standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and Infection Control at all times.
  • Promote and monitor adherence to Health and Safety and Trust policies designed to protect healthcare staff and service users from known hazards.
