Job Title: Senior Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Senior Safety Specialist to join our team at CV Library. The successful candidate will work within the System team performing safety activities in support of the Systems in development, manufacture and in-service.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain safety cases and associated documentation.
  2. Assess supplier safety compliance, in accordance with legislative and contractual safety requirements.
  3. Conduct safety analysis activities, including Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  4. Provide safety input to life-cycle management core engineering processes, design reviews, and Systems projects.
  5. Produce reports to support site, facility, or equipment safety.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's/Master degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent education with relevant experience.
  2. Member of a relevant institution, or relevant experienced and capable to register with Engineering Council.

Essential Skills:

  1. Experience supporting safety case work within either the Civil or Defence sectors.
  2. Development of safety case reports, assessing safety case validity and safety assurance, including ALARP assessments and providing safety argument for Design Authority Approval.
  3. Ability to author safety case documentation, collate supporting evidence.
  4. Production of safety case reports.
  5. Comprehensive experience of hazard and risk management processes.
  6. Performing functional safety analysis using recognised methods.
  7. Risk Management, including Hazard Logs, Hazard Identification and Hazard Analysis.
  8. Performing Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA).
  9. System Safety Analysis; Fault Tree Analysis, Bow Tie Analysis.
  10. Assessing supplier safety compliance, in accordance with legislative and contractual safety requirements.
  11. Experience working with Nuclear regulation (either, DNSR or ONR).
  12. Development of Probabilistic and Deterministic Safety Arguments.
