About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Assessor to join our Continuing Healthcare team at NHS Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care Board.

As a registered nurse with experience in CHC, you will play a pivotal role in assessing individuals for NHS Continuing Healthcare, in line with the National Framework for NHS Continuing Healthcare and NHS Funded Nursing Care.

You will work closely with the Clinical Lead to promote best practice and provide professional advice to Nursing Homes and other providers, ensuring good relationships and liaison with colleagues from other disciplines.

The post holder will be required to follow due process for determining eligibility for NHS CHC for live and retrospective cases, as well as appeals and dispute cases.

You will contribute to the safeguarding adults from abuse process (SAFA) by undertaking reviews of individuals who have been identified as at risk of harm.

Person Specification
  • Current 1st Level Registered Nurse/NMC Registration
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent level of experience in a specialist area
  • Knowledge and understanding of current national and local policy/Framework Guidance relating to NHS Continuing Healthcare and NHS Funded Nursing Care
  • Knowledge and experience of working with Safeguarding issues and Policy guidance
  • Experience of working with patients with multiple/complex needs
