Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Dermatologist with a strong interest in surgery to join our dynamic team at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advanced surgical level of skills in Dermatology and working closely with the existing consultant team to provide a wide range of dermatology services in partnership with primary care colleagues.

Main Duties of the Job

The department provides a full clinical dermatology service for nearly one million people locally, regionally and nationally, including general and highly specialist MDT services. The post holder will be required to develop and maintain the competencies required to carry out the duties of the post, specifically the development of the department's Patch Testing specialist service and TENs service.

Job Responsibilities

The post holder must adhere to the standards outlined by the GMC for Good Medical Practice. They will be responsible for ensuring prompt attendance at agreed direct clinical care Programmed Activities, ensuring patients are involved in decisions about their care and responding to their views, and demonstrating, modelling and encouraging Trust Values at all times to all patients and staff.

Education and Qualifications

Essential

  • MBChB / MB BS
  • MRCP/ FRCP
  • Past record of academic achievement. Publications.
  • On specialist register (or within 6 months of CCST at interview)

Desirable

  • MD/PhD
  • BSc
  • Management qualification
  • Teaching qualification

Experience

Essential

  • Wide and in-depth training in Dermatology/General Medicine.
  • Established record in Advanced Surgery
  • Established record in Dermatology education
  • Proven track record in innovation, service improvement and system redesign
  • Experience in teledermatology
