Job Title: Property Solicitor

Job Summary: We are seeking a Property Solicitor to join our Commercial, Planning and Property Team in Dumfries and Galloway Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a broad range of property work and supporting the Legal & Licensing Service deliver ad hoc general public sector advice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake a broad range of property work, including commercial, planning, and property law.
• Support the Legal & Licensing Service deliver ad hoc general public sector advice, including sitting as legal advisor to regulatory committees.
• Work closely with the Commercial, Planning and Property Team to deliver a diverse and complex range of commercial, planning, property, and general public sector legal support.

Requirements:

• Hold a degree in Scots Law (or equivalent) and Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
• Be admitted as a solicitor by the Law Society of Scotland and hold a current unrestricted Practising Certificate.
• Have a good working knowledge of Scots Law and experience of delivering legal advice in the Local Government/Public Sector.
