  • Supervise and manage a team of social workers to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to children and families.
  • Provide clear and informed management oversight to support social workers in their work with children and families.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and partners across agency boundaries to improve outcomes for children and young people.
  • Use data and performance analysis to understand and improve the lived experiences of children and the service improvements required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Significant decision-making skills, including the ability to analyse information, draw conclusions, and effect judgements based on outcomes and risk.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify causes, make objective and informed judgements, and demonstrate emotional resilience and balance.
  • Ability to appraise and motivate staff in a way that ensures compliance with policies but also enables individuals to develop.
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues and partners across agency boundaries.
  • Ability to plan, organise, and use resources effectively and efficiently.
Essential Qualifications and Experience

You will need:

  • Extensive social work qualification experience of working with children and families in the context of current legislation and government initiatives.
  • Current Social Work England Registration.
  • Social work degree.
  • Experience of managing or supporting others and assuring compliance to policy and procedures.
  • Evidence of having delivered improved outcomes and impact for children and young people.
