Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Chemist to join our team in Nottingham. As a Senior Chemist, you will play a key role in the development of our cutting-edge CO2 utilization technology. Your primary responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities
  • Designing and conducting experiments to evaluate the performance of CO2 sorbents
  • Developing and synthesizing new CO2 sorbent materials using various methods
  • Characterizing the synthesized materials using techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and thermal analysis (e.g., TGA, DSC)
  • Conducting sorption tests to evaluate the CO2 capture capacity and kinetics of the developed sorbents
  • Analyzing experimental data using statistical tools and software to draw meaningful conclusions
  • Collaborating with other team members to share findings, discuss progress, and troubleshoot challenges
Requirements
  • PhD in Chemistry or a related field
  • 2+ years post-PhD experience or equivalent industrial experience
  • Strong knowledge of fundamental principles and concepts in chemistry, including chemical reactions, thermodynamics, materials science, and spectroscopy
  • Research skills, including the ability to conduct literature reviews, gather relevant information, and stay updated on the latest advancements in CO2 utilization development
  • Laboratory skills, including high-level proficiency in laboratory techniques and procedures
  • Data analysis and interpretation skills, including the ability to analyze experimental data and draw meaningful conclusions
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

Remuneration

Competitive salary: £36,000 - £48,500 per annum, plus car allowance. Share options: 0.2-0.5%.

This is a permanent position available for immediate start. Flexible working hours (full-time). Ability to commute to Nottingham is required.
