Electrical Design Engineer Opportunity

Verto People is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our client, a global marine technology company, on a contract basis in Gateshead. This is a whole-life technical involvement role that requires producing designs for specialist Naval deck equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop Electrical Engineering solutions to fulfill client requirements.
  • Investigate Safety and Technical problems.
  • Develop circuit diagrams for motor control equipment, including direct-on-line and variable speed drives.
  • Develop cable and connection diagrams for motor control and control console equipment.
  • Carry out Arc Flash assessments and other calculations to substantiate designs.
Requirements:
  • Established as an independent Ltd company or via an Umbrella Company.
  • BEng in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience of working in a highly regulated industry.

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will create technical equipment specifications, design reports, test procedures, test reports, and service/instruction manuals in accordance with industry standards. Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, and MATHCAD, is required. Additionally, knowledge of BS EN 8888 for the production of drawings is essential.
