Aqua-Tech Recruitment is seeking a seasoned Health and Safety Manager/Lead Adviser to join a multi-national Engineering company.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health and safety management, with specific experience and knowledge of the utilities or water industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and Implement Health and Safety Policies: Create and implement effective health and safety policies and procedures specific to the utilities/water sector.
  2. Conduct Regular Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address health and safety hazards and risks.
  3. Deliver Health and Safety Training: Coordinate and deliver health and safety training programs for employees, contractors, and other relevant stakeholders.
  4. Investigate Accidents and Incidents: Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  5. Stay Up-to-Date with Regulations: Keep abreast of developments in health and safety regulations and standards relevant to the utilities/water sector, and ensure compliance.
  6. Culture of Safety: Work closely with management and other departments to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  7. Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze health and safety performance data, and prepare reports for management review.
  8. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as regulatory agencies and industry groups, on health and safety initiatives and programs.
Requirements:
  1. A recognised qualification in Health and Safety.
  2. Previous experience in health and safety management, with specific experience in the utilities or water sector.
  3. In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards applicable to the utilities/water sector.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate health and safety risks.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  6. Proven track record of developing and implementing effective health and safety programs and initiatives.
  7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
