About the Role

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a highly skilled Research and Evidence Specialist to join our Public Health Knowledge and Intelligence team. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and implementing a systematic approach to guiding colleagues, providing training and support on finding and applying evidence to inform decisions and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support networking and influencing senior colleagues across the Council to promote the value of research and evidence to inform practice
  • Deliver research awareness and knowledge mobilisation activities
  • Facilitate and provide training on finding and using evidence
  • Assess Council's research readiness and identify development needs
  • Support development of research infrastructure and processes
  • Facilitate networking and enable access to relevant guidance, support and training

About You

The ideal candidate will have knowledge, skills and experience in a broad range of applied research and evaluation methods applicable to public health, including wider determinants of health. They will also have knowledge of research funding systems, application processes and governance, as well as the ability to influence and engage with senior leaders and Council teams.
