We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students who require additional behavioural and emotional support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with behavioural and emotional challenges.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
- Support classroom teachers in managing classroom behaviour and promoting a positive learning atmosphere.
- Foster strong relationships with students to build trust and encourage positive behaviour.
- Monitor and report on student progress, including any changes in behaviour or engagement.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to develop and implement strategies to support students' behavioural and emotional needs.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and effectiveness in this role.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school setting.
- A good understanding of behaviour management strategies and techniques.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt to the needs of individual students and the wider school environment.
- An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
