About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Practitioner Psychologist to join our team in the Cardiff Community Learning Disabilities Team. As a Practitioner Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing a specialized psychological service to adults with Learning Disabilities, including assessment, therapy, and support to their carers.

The successful candidate will have a Doctorate qualification in Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic Psychology, and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). They will also have experience of working with people with Learning Disabilities and be able to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and safe clinical practice.

The team values psychology input and offers close working relationships with other psychologists working in the Learning Disability specialism. The post holder will be expected to provide consultation to other professional and non-professional groups, and be able to use a variety of complex multimedia materials for teaching and training.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
  • Doctorate qualification in Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic Psychology
  • HCPC registration

  • Ability to communicate complex information effectively
  • High level of professionalism and safe clinical practice
