Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver tailored lessons that cater to the individual needs of SEND students.
- Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to engage and support students with diverse learning needs.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary to ensure academic and personal development.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
- Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other support staff to provide comprehensive support to students.
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in SEND education.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of student progress and development.
Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Proven experience teaching primary-aged children, particularly those with SEND
- Strong understanding of various SEND conditions and effective teaching strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, empathetic, and committed to providing high-quality education for all students
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of current SEND legislation and best practices
