Veterinary Nurse Specialist

Sanctuary Personnel Ltd is seeking a skilled Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our client's growing, independent small animal practice. The ideal candidate will be passionate about their professional development and drawn to working in a positive environment.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a dedicated and passionate team, providing high-level nursing care and monitoring animal progress. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing high-level nursing care and monitoring animal progress, prioritising first aid to stabilise patients and minimise discomfort.
- Preparing and cleaning animal accommodation according to patient needs and local policies, ensuring the patient's safety, security, and cleanliness while monitoring and recording their condition.
- Offering clear and concise advice on animal care plans and assisting clients in caring for their pets.
- Maintaining comprehensive clinical records for all patients.
- Assisting the Veterinary Surgeon with laboratory diagnostic tests, including collecting samples, proper storage, and documentation.
- Supporting the Veterinary Surgeon during surgical procedures by providing necessary equipment and materials and operating surgical equipment as required.
- Verifying the animal's condition and the anaesthetic procedure to be administered, performing pre-anaesthetic checks and monitoring the animal throughout the procedure.
- Mentoring Student Veterinary Nurses by acting as a Clinical Coach, assisting them with their Nursing Progress Log, teaching clinical skills, supervising their progress, and supporting their assessment of occupational standards.
The ideal candidate will be a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RCVS) with a valid driving licence due to the multi-site nature of the role.
