About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Licensing Officer to join our team at the Institute of Licensing Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of licensing functions, with a focus on taxi licensing, alcohol and entertainment, and animal licensing.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. They will be responsible for resolving a high volume of enquiries via telephone and email, and will work closely with colleagues in the Environmental Health, Community Safety and Enforcement areas.

The role offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including 24 days annual leave (rising to 29 after 5 years' service), subsidised gym membership and car parking, payment of professional fees, entitlement to join the local government pension scheme and non-contributory life assurance.

About the Team

We are a small and friendly Licensing team well positioned in a supportive wider environment of colleagues. Our offices are in Epsom, Surrey within easy reach of a range of direct railway and road links. We operate a flexible working arrangement where officers can work from home for part of the week, but it will be a requirement for you to work from our offices on a regular and frequent basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of licensing functions, with a focus on taxi licensing, alcohol and entertainment, and animal licensing
  • Resolve a high volume of enquiries via telephone and email
  • Work closely with colleagues in the Environmental Health, Community Safety and Enforcement areas
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of licensing policies and procedures
