Job Title: Director of Finance and Governance

Shakespeare Birthplace Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced finance leader to join their team as Director of Finance and Governance. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the organisation through a period of rapid change and deliver tangible, positive outcomes.

About the Role

The Director of Finance and Governance will report into the CEO and work in partnership with senior colleagues to shape the effective development of the Trust's strategic, financial, business and resource plans. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Shaping the Trust's strategic, financial, business and resource plans to ensure best use of all assets and pursue value-creating financial opportunities
  • Leading financial modelling and analysis to support the development of long-term strategic initiatives, business plans for capital projects and financial models for core activities
  • Identifying and delivering ongoing improvements to medium and long-term strategic plans and budget proposals
  • Managing and driving improvements to the Trust's investment, treasury and property management portfolio
  • Supporting and guiding the CEO and Board of Trustees on the principles of good governance and ensuring the Trust's governance framework is fit for purpose
  • Taking ownership for the risk register and ensuring effective audit systems are in place across all areas of the Trust
