Job Description

**Job Title:** Group Financial Controller

**Job Summary:** We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Group Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations of a small hotel group.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • **Financial Management:** Oversee and manage the financial operations for the hotels within the group, ensuring compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • **Financial Reporting:** Prepare, analyse, and present accurate financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and variance analysis, to the senior management team.
  • **Compliance Reporting:** Ensure timely and accurate completion of compliance reporting to financial institutions and investors.
  • **Financial Strategy:** Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize financial performance and support business objectives.
  • **Budgeting and Forecasting:** Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for all hotels in the group, providing guidance and support to individual hotel finance teams.
  • **Financial Analysis:** Monitor and analyse financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying areas of improvement and recommending corrective actions.
  • **Financial Closing:** Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • **Cash Flow Management:** Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure the financial stability of the hotel group.
  • **Statutory Accounts:** Prepare Statutory Accounts ready for Audit.
  • **Compliance and Governance:** Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and financial standards.
  • **Financial Insights:** Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making by the senior management team.
  • **Team Development:** Develop and mentor finance teams at each hotel, ensuring consistent financial practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • **Internal Controls:** Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the group's assets and prevent fraud or financial mismanagement.
  • **Industry Knowledge:** Stay updated on industry trends, financial regulations, and best practices to ensure the group remains competitive and compliant.

**Requirements:**

  • **Experience:** Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or similar role in the hotel or hospitality industry, preferably within a group or multi-property environment.
  • **Financial Knowledge:** Strong knowledge of financial management principles, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • **Regulatory Compliance:** Experience with financial reporting standards, accounting principles, and regulatory compliance.
  • **Technical Skills:** Proficient in using financial management software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • **Leadership Skills:** Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to build and develop high-performing finance teams.
  • **Communication Skills:** Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely to stakeholders.
  • **Integrity:** High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
