About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rheumatology Consultant to join our team at Whittington Health. As a Rheumatology Consultant, you will play a key role in providing high-quality patient care, leading a multidisciplinary team, and contributing to the development of our Rheumatology service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical care to patients with rheumatic diseases, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of complex cases.
  • Lead a team of healthcare professionals, including consultants, registrars, and specialist nurses, to deliver high-quality patient care and improve patient outcomes.
  • Develop and implement clinical guidelines and protocols to ensure best practice in Rheumatology care.
  • Contribute to the development of our Rheumatology service, including service redesign, quality improvement initiatives, and education and training programs.
  • Collaborate with other departments and services to ensure seamless care for patients with rheumatic diseases.
Person Specification
  • Full GMC Registration
  • Membership of the Royal College of Physicians, or equivalent
  • Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Rheumatology
  • An additional higher degree (MD, PhD, MA)
Teaching and Education
  • Experience of and commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching.
  • Skills to support Trainee Doctors and Specialist Nurses
  • Formal training in educational and clinical supervision of junior Drs
Quality Improvement and Clinical Audit
  • Experience of quality improvement and clinical audit
  • Quality improvement and Clinical AuditExperience of quality improvement and clinical audit.Experience in transformation projects and department changes.
