Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Heath Farm School. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our teachers to deliver high-quality education to our students with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in the planning and delivery of lessons to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Assist students with their academic and personal development, including preparing materials and resources.
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Contribute to the development of educational programs and initiatives that promote student progress and achievement.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress and development.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date with best practices and developments in special education.
  • Contribute to the overall well-being and safety of students, staff, and visitors on school premises.
  • Adhere to the school's policies and procedures, including those related to safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the school management.

Requirements:

  • GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to work and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Experience of working with students with complex needs, preferably in a special education setting.
  • Knowledge of special education principles and practices, including those related to inclusion, diversity, and equity.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Willingness to undergo training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Availability to work 80% of contractual hours for 100% of pay, with the option to work additional hours for extra pay.
