Yard Worker

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering & Warehouse Operative to join our team at a leading bespoke machinery manufacture. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of goods and materials within our warehouse and yard areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the yard and associated areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and tidy condition.
• Load and unload vehicles as required, and act as a Banksman to ensure the safety of all personnel while delivery and collection vehicles are on site.
• Prepare machines and ancillaries for loading into containers or onto vehicles.
• Record and report all necessary information in line with the required timeline and quality standards.
• Conduct inspections of incoming materials and report any damages.
• Check items for damages before storing them in the yard or other on-site storage facilities.
• Deliver items to the production areas.
• Perform site maintenance duties, including grass mowing, hedge trimming, DIY tasks, leaf and litter clearance, and ensuring pallets and cable drums are stored in an orderly fashion.

Requirements:

• Experience in a similar role in a busy yard in an engineering, manufacturing, or logistics environment.
• Experience operating a Counterbalance FLT.
• Valid driving license.
