Job Title: Academic Library Tutor

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced tutor to join our team at a school in Coventry. As a tutor, you will be responsible for delivering one-to-one sessions to support learners with Autism and SEMH. You will work closely with our team to create a tailored learning environment that meets the needs of each individual student.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver functional skills maths and English one-to-one sessions to students with specific learning needs.
  2. Develop and implement individualised learning plans to support student progress.
  3. Work collaboratively with the school's team to ensure a comprehensive and supportive learning environment.
  4. Cultivate strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to promote a positive and inclusive learning community.
  5. Contribute to the school's ongoing professional development by sharing best practices and participating in training opportunities.
  6. Monitor student progress and adjust learning plans as needed.
  7. Collaborate with other professionals to provide additional support and resources for students.
  8. Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the development of school policies and procedures.
  9. Comply with school policies and procedures, including health and safety protocols and data protection guidelines.
  10. Provide regular updates and feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
  11. Participate in any other duties as reasonably assigned by the school's management team.
  12. Must have a clear DBS certificate to be considered for this role. If you do not have one, we can support you in obtaining one at a cost of £50.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in the education sector, care sector, or similar capacity.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Autism and SEMH, including strategies for supporting students with these needs.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Basic IT skills and familiarity with digital tools and resources.
  • Physical ability to move around the school and engage with students.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training.
  • Clear DBS certificate.
