iOS Developer Job Description

A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced iOS Developer to join our client's team in Hertfordshire, a world-leading design and manufacturing organisation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining iOS applications that interact with IoT devices, working closely with the Development Manager and hardware engineers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop robust iOS applications that seamlessly integrate with IoT devices and platforms.
  • Implement communication protocols (such as MQTT, or HTTP, BTLE) to ensure efficient data exchange between iOS apps, connected devices, and the cloud.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware engineers to integrate data from the hardware into our IoT ecosystems.
  • Develop and maintain secure, scalable IoT platforms, considering data privacy, encryption, and authentication.
  • Optimise app performance for resource-constrained environments typical in IoT scenarios.
  • Follow best practices for clean coding, maintainable architecture, and efficient algorithms.
Requirements:
  • Familiarity with Xcode and the iOS SDK.
  • Prior experience as an iOS developer, especially in IoT-related projects.
  • Excellent coding skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems programming.
  • Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication.
