Job Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and leading clinical teams in the Emergency Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert clinical advice and guidance to nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.
- Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures to improve patient outcomes.
- Lead clinical teams in the Emergency Department and provide mentorship and supervision to junior staff.
- Contribute to the development of clinical education programs and materials.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical guidelines.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with a minimum of 3 years' experience in the Emergency Department.
- Postgraduate qualification in Advanced Clinical Practice or a related field.
- IRMER Regulation trained.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
Desirable Criteria:
- EPALS certification.
- Relevant teaching or supervising experience.
Technical Skills Competencies:
- Demonstrable clinical competence in a range of clinical skills and competences associated with the role requirements of the speciality.
- Highly developed communication, influencing, and negotiating skills.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Effective time management and work organization skills.
Knowledge:
- Sound understanding of evidence-based practice and its application.
- Understanding of the Trust's objectives and priorities and the ability to work across operational boundaries.
- Knowledge of research/audit processes and application.
- Good knowledge of professional priorities.
Interpersonal Skills:
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team using excellent interpersonal skills.
- Evidence of ability to critique own practice.
