Job Title: Accountant - Service Charge - Residential Property Management

Location: Shrewsbury

Company Overview: Lambert Smith Hampton is a leading commercial real estate consultancy with a network of offices across the UK and Ireland. We provide expert advice to investors, developers, and occupiers in both the public and private sectors.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present residential service charge accounts to clients.
  • Reconcile independently prepared accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Provide exceptional client service and liaison on all accounting matters.
  • Collaborate with Property Managers to ensure seamless accounting processes.
  • Assist with complex queries from Property Managers and provide clear explanations.
  • Produce year-end certificates and explanations with final accounts.
  • Meet deadlines and work efficiently to deliver high-quality results.
  • Support Property Managers and Branch Managers in the local office.
  • Assist RMC Directors in understanding service charge accounts and provide guidance as needed.
  • Attend AGMs and other meetings with clients as required.
  • Ensure compliance with the RICS Service Charge Residential Management Code.

Essential Experience:

  • Understanding of leasehold property accounting principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and lease interpretation.
  • Experience with lease apportionment, schedules, balancing, and reserve fund compliance.
  • Knowledge of Section 20B legislation (desirable).
