Project Overview

Bechtel is seeking a highly skilled Senior Construction Engineer to provide Project Management Consultant (PMC) Services and Engineering Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) Services for offsites and utilities (OSBL) for a multi-billion-dollar upgrade / expansion of an existing petrochemical facilities in India.

The PMC Services will be led out of India with personnel deployed in Mumbai region, the project sites in India, as well as several key contractor locations across India. The EPCM Services for OSBL will be led out of Bechtel's India offices.

This position will start as an assignment in Mumbai, India (office) prior to the receipt of the full notice to proceed from the Owner and will eventually transition to the job site for the EPC execution of the project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinates with engineering on constructability and design issues and monitors the interfacing between the construction automation plan and the project controls program at the jobsite.
  • Establishes a Design/Field Engineering working relationship and lines of communication with the Lead Discipline Field Engineer/Area Field Engineer including agreement on engineering deliverables.
  • Responsible for quantity take-off, control, reporting and forecasting, and ensures the implementation of project environmental control plan(s) as required.
  • Supports the design of temporary construction facilities, preparation of cost estimates for construction activities and coordinates the preparation of cost reports, forecast and progress reports.
  • Reviews and provides input to project controls documents on progress relating to cost and schedule, and material receiving reports and warehousing to assure delivery of correct materials.
  • Plans and recommends procedures to be implemented by construction contractors to ensure construction operations are within requirements of engineering design and specifications.
  • Maintenance of construction engineering records for job history. Supervises the receiving, distribution and filing of plans and specifications.
  • Implements controls over variables affecting job progress to ensure engineering and procurement provide timely delivery of drawings, materials, and equipment and to ensure that other corporate programs are fully utilized.
  • Coordinates with the Area Field Engineer/Project Field Engineer for any work related to contract administration and activities affecting the contract administration operation.
