Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our team at Nicholas Associates Group Limited. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and leading a team of engineers within the business. The team consists of x5 manufacturing engineers that look after projects and planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning and distribution of work: Work closely with the commercial manager to plan and distribute work across the team.
  • Staff development: Train and develop staff to ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their roles effectively.
  • Team leadership: Attend team leader meetings and lead the manufacturing and planning engineers.
  • Project management: Project manage new projects in partnership with the commercial and engineering team.
  • Customer and supplier relationships: Build relationships with customers and suppliers, and organise and liaise with suppliers as needed.
  • Cost estimates: Calculate cost estimates for projects.
  • Bill of Materials and sales orders: Set up new Bill of Materials, sales orders, and production routings.
  • Engineering meetings: Lead engineering meetings to ensure projects are progressing smoothly.
Requirements
  • Background in precision engineering: A background in precision engineering, particularly in machining and fabrication, is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills: Excellent inter-personal and presentation skills are essential for this role.
  • Technical skills: Competence in Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Project, is required. A good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems is also necessary.
  • Project management experience: Project management experience is essential for this role.
  • Leadership skills: The ability to work unsupervised and use own initiative is required.
  • Attention to detail: A good eye for detail with a methodical approach to tasks is essential.
  • Communication skills: Confident communication skills are necessary for this role.
  • Lean manufacturing background: A lean manufacturing background is desirable.
