About the Role

As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for managing your own caseload, using evidence-based practice and client-centered principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions in both hospital and community settings.

You will provide specialist advice to Occupational Therapy staff and other disciplines/agencies, and develop specialist clinical skills, potentially leading clinical audits.

About the Team

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, working closely with colleagues to deliver high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Registered Occupational Therapist with valid HCPC Registration
  • Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
  • Postgraduate expertise within the speciality/area of practice, demonstrating the required breadth of knowledge to lead safely, effectively, and efficiently
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality/area of practice
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies, and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice
  • Leadership skills to enable the day-to-day management of service delivery
  • Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in the area of speciality, including study days/courses/postgraduate qualification
  • Excellent team-working/leadership skills, with the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
  • Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology

Desirable

  • Practice education training and experience within the specific care group/speciality
  • Evidence of audit, critical appraisal, reflective practice, and/or research skills
  • Sound knowledge of multi-disciplinary and inter-agency team working practices

18.6 hours

Please note that this is a part-time post, and the salary will be pro-rata.

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in the Rehabilitation Team within Airdrie Community Health Clinic.

The working pattern for this role will be Days.
