CK Group is recruiting for a Medical Device Development Engineer to join a company in the Pharmaceutical industry, at their site based in Cambridge, on a contract basis for 12 months.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Medical Device Development Engineer to support the design and development of drug delivery devices. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of complex mechanical systems and experience with risk assessment tools, including FMEA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the design and development of drug delivery devices.
- Risk management assessment and mitigation, including DFMEA, input to UFMEA and assessment of critical functions.
- Apply theoretical engineering knowledge to analyse and critique design concepts and solutions, identifying areas critical to function, likely failure modes and design sensitivities.
- Perform tolerance analysis using RSS or Montecarlo methodology.
- Produce models and drawings using 3D CAD.
Requirements:
- CAD (preferably Pro-Engineer / Creo) and associated document management systems.
- Engineering calculations, e.g. free body diagrams, friction, beam bending.
- Good understanding of complex mechanical systems.
- Experience of using risk assessment tools, including FMEA.
- Management and prioritisation of project tasks.
- Understanding of quality management systems.
