CK Group is recruiting for a Medical Device Development Engineer to join a company in the Pharmaceutical industry, at their site based in Cambridge, on a contract basis for 12 months.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Medical Device Development Engineer to support the design and development of drug delivery devices. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of complex mechanical systems and experience with risk assessment tools, including FMEA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design and development of drug delivery devices.
  • Risk management assessment and mitigation, including DFMEA, input to UFMEA and assessment of critical functions.
  • Apply theoretical engineering knowledge to analyse and critique design concepts and solutions, identifying areas critical to function, likely failure modes and design sensitivities.
  • Perform tolerance analysis using RSS or Montecarlo methodology.
  • Produce models and drawings using 3D CAD.

Requirements:

  • CAD (preferably Pro-Engineer / Creo) and associated document management systems.
  • Engineering calculations, e.g. free body diagrams, friction, beam bending.
  • Good understanding of complex mechanical systems.
  • Experience of using risk assessment tools, including FMEA.
  • Management and prioritisation of project tasks.
  • Understanding of quality management systems.
