Job Summary

As a Desktop Support Engineer at Warner Bros. Discovery, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of IT services and supporting users in their use of these services. You will be part of a team that delivers core services to developers and administrative staff, and will be responsible for first and second line support tasks, including request handling, commissioning and maintenance of assets, project management, and more.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide support to staff throughout the business, including troubleshooting, diagnosis, resolution, and escalation.
  2. Record details of support requests and ensure that procedures and other documentation are accurate and up-to-date.
  3. Operate System image creation, maintenance, and deployment.
  4. Perform workstation maintenance, including deployment of applications, correcting faults, updating drivers and firmware, etc.
  5. Transfer licenses between machines as projects change and people move between tasks, ensuring that license documents are kept up-to-date.
  6. Add and maintain network service-related data, including DHCP reservations, scopes, user and service accounts, distribution lists, security groups, etc.
  7. Create and maintain documentation for departmental use and for consumers of IT support services, including IP address registers, equipment registers, setup/standards documents, FAQs, how-tos, etc.
  8. Perform any other ad-hoc IT duties required to provide an effective and efficient service.
  9. Depending on projects, there may be a requirement to travel between Knutsford and Brighton Studios.
  10. Have working knowledge of Windows 10, 11, and MacOS, including using and troubleshooting.
  11. Have working knowledge of System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
  12. Have remote administration tools for Windows and Active Directory.

Desirable Knowledge and Experience
  1. Windows Servers (2016 and above), Linux, and VMware.
  2. Cloud Technologies (AWS and Azure).
  3. Direct Attached Storage, Network Attached Storage, and Storage Area Networks.
  4. Familiarity with network security protocols, including LDAP, RADIUS, and 802.1x.
  5. Network monitoring protocol experience, including SNMP and ICMP.
  6. ITIL.

Onsite Working
This role is advertised as Onsite, meaning all working hours and days will be carried out at the place of work.
