About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Supervisor to join our team at Government Facility Services Ltd, a leading provider of facilities management services to the Ministry of Justice. As a Mechanical Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our facilities, including prisons and other secure environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise a team of plumbers, electricians, and other trades professionals to ensure the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems, including heating, water, and building services.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
  • Manage and maintain a range of mechanical systems, including boilers, pumps, and other equipment.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and plans to ensure the efficient operation of mechanical systems.
  • Collaborate with other teams, including facilities management and administration, to ensure seamless delivery of services.
Requirements
  • Five years' experience as a plumber or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with and ability to work to Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
  • Experience working on commercial or industrial heating and water or building services systems.
  • Experience of supervising staff.
  • Plumber qualified to C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and heating) and NVQ level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent.
  • Up to date First Aid at Work Qualification - Desirable.
  • Relevant professional qualifications (facilities management/project management) - Desirable.
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge.
  • Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
