Job Title: Key Account Manager

To support the expansion of Applus IDIADA's activities in the UK, we are seeking a Key Account Manager to join our Sales team.

The successful candidate will have several years of experience in a Technical Sales / Key Account Management role in the Automotive sector.

This role could be located at our facilities in the UK and responsibilities will include:


Business development: seeking new clients in the UK market for Applus IDIADA's services.


Existing client management: for several existing UK customers, supporting current business activities, increasing relationships, networking & promoting Applus IDIADA's product diversification.


Providing commercial support to the UK Engineering, Testing & Homologation teams.


Sales process responsibilities and expectations:

Visiting and meeting existing and new clients using the appropriate methods

Identifying new areas of possible collaboration, obtaining RFQs and following up

Identifying and exploring opportunities with new 'start-up' companies

Utilising the "Salesforce" CRM tool, currently being introduced, to follow the

Applus IDIADA sales process

Generating meeting reports and business opportunity documents

Liaising with Applus IDIADA UK & global staff to explain new Client requests

Close collaboration & team working required with Applus IDIADA product teams, locally

& worldwide, providing commercial advice and assistance in steering the commercial development of the business

Following up and leading client negotiations following quotation submission

Following new business opportunities through to activity completion

Identifying and actioning any client concerns

Following client invoicing process and ensuring timely payments

Weekly meetings with the UK Sales team to discuss, review and plan

activities

Attending and participating in the Applus IDIADA monthly global sales meetings


Travel requirements: regular travel to Applus IDIADA offices in the UK and worldwide and to customer sites as required.


Requirements:


Previous sales experience.


Strong commercial awareness.


Ability to work with MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Salesforce


Analytical and numeracy skills with the ability to work with MS Excel.


Clear and concise written communication and presentation skills.


Strong communication skills.


Desired qualifications/knowledge:


Degree qualification in engineering, management/ business, or equivalent.


Practical knowledge of the automotive industry.


Knowledge of Automotive OEM and Tier 1 processes.


Sales/Engineering/Technical knowledge.


Commercial, costing, engineering or programme management knowledge.
