About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Ecological Conservation Specialist to join our team at Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water. As a key member of our Environment Services team, you will be responsible for providing expert technical advice on biodiversity and conservation, ensuring our capital programme meets the highest environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on conservation, ecology, and related statutory and legal obligations.
  • Manage the production of conservation plans and Habitats Regulation Assessments.
  • Assist in the delivery of our Environmental Monitoring Framework contract.
  • Provide a governance role over our Biodiversity Net Gain / Benefit implementation in our capital programme.

Who You'll Work With

You will collaborate with our Environment Services team, Wastewater and Water asset management teams, Capital Delivery, and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An ecology or environmental science degree, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Membership of a recognised environmental or conservation professional body.
  • At least 5 years' experience in ecology, licensing, or conservation service delivery, monitoring, or investigations.
  • Experience of formal reporting and planning processes.
  • The enthusiasm and ability to project a positive and professional image.
  • The readiness to take responsibility for projects.
  • The ability to travel as required.
