We are working with a public sector organisation based in Oxfordshire, who are currently recruiting for a Litigation Solicitor to join their team on a permanent basis.

The position is a great opportunity for a skilled solicitor to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, handling a variety of civil and criminal disputes.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within the Local Authority setting and specifically within Criminal Litigation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handling and advising on a range of civil and criminal disputes, including those concerning land, property, and contracts.
  • Managing a caseload of both Claimant and Defendant matters, including court work and hearings as required.
  • Providing expert legal advice and representation in various civil disputes.
  • Conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and legal documents, and providing case analysis.
  • Assisting in negotiating settlements and alternative dispute resolutions when appropriate.
  • Advising on selective and additional licensing schemes and enforcement work.
  • Conducting advocacy as required in relation to cases involving trading standards, environmental health, and licensing matters.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge in Criminal Law.
  • Local Government experience is desirable.
  • Must be qualified as a Solicitor.

Working Hours:

  • 37 hours per week.
  • Monday – Friday.
