Technical Manager Opportunity

Alexander Steele is pleased to be working in partnership with a well-established food manufacturer to supply a range of chilled and ambient products to UK retailers and Food Service.

The Role:

As Technical Manager, you will be responsible for implementing the technical and operational goals and strategy to ensure the business meets customer expectations for product quality, food safety, and legality. This will be achieved by forming high-performing partnerships with customers and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Technical team, including regular meetings, performance reviews, and identifying training needs.
  • Ensure up-to-date policies and procedures are communicated to and understood by operational teams.
  • Build excellent relationships with customers and suppliers, responding to complaints, queries, and communications in a timely manner.
  • Maintain knowledge of company procedures and control standards.
  • Monitor and manage technical processes, product standards, and quality control programs.
  • Ensure the technical function is cost-effective and runs with the required resources.
  • Work with the senior management team to implement company policies and business objectives.
The Ideal Candidate:

Alexander Steele is seeking an experienced Technical Manager with a background in the food manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will have management experience, lead, motivate, and drive continuous improvements while upholding the business's beliefs and guiding principles.

  • A minimum of 2 years in a Technical or Quality Management position with customer and supplier-facing experience.
  • A Food Science degree is desirable.
  • HACCP Level 3 +.
  • Lead Auditor or equivalent experience.
  • Good knowledge of BRC.
