About This Role

We are excited to offer a challenging opportunity for an experienced Specialist Practitioner Psychologist to join our team at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Long Term Conditions (in transition) focused service, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality psychological therapies to individuals affected by cancer.

Main Responsibilities

As a Highly Specialist Practitioner Psychologist, you will work closely with the Principal Practitioner Psychologist to provide Step 3+ therapy provision within GMMH Talking Therapies Division. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing highly specialist psychological assessment and treatment for patients with complex mental health needs
  • Delivering high-quality individual and group therapy sessions
  • Offering clinical supervision to clinical psychologists and other therapists
  • Contributing to the implementation of the Four-Tier model of psychological support (NICE, 2004)

You will also be expected to provide expert advice and consultation to healthcare professionals outside of the service, ensuring seamless integration with secondary care services.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A British Psychological Society Accredited Doctoral Degree in Clinical/Counselling
  • Registration with The Health & Care Professions Council as a Practitioner Psychologist

Demonstrated experience working with diverse client groups and settings is essential, while training and teaching qualifications are desirable.
