About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at ABL Health Ltd. As a Qualified Educational Mental Health Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties in educational settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver evidence-based assessments and interventions for children and young people in education settings, under expert supervision.
  • Work in partnership with school/college mental health leads to develop a Whole School and College Approach to mental health.
  • Collaborate with other EMHPs, CWPs, and mental health professionals to deliver 1:1 interventions, groups, parent-led interventions, workshops, and staff training.
  • Assess and deliver outcome-focused, low-intensity, evidence-based interventions in educational settings.
  • Help children and young people access more specialist services by engaging with more senior staff in the signposting of referrals.
Requirements
  • Qualification from CYP Educational Mental Health Practitioners Course (EMHP) or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with anxiety disorders, affective (mood) disorders, and delivering specific therapeutic interventions to children, young people, or their families.
  • Experience of working with children and their families in an education setting and healthcare setting.
  • Ability to carry out 1:1 therapeutic mental health interventions with children and families.
  • Ability to conduct group parenting programs and mental health assessments of children and young people.
  • Ability to make an assessment of risk and record and communicate it appropriately.
