About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Development Coordinator to join our team at Saha. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with our team and residents to develop community work, improving health, social, and welfare outcomes.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively to develop internal community activities and outreach work, increasing our presence in the local community. They will also engage creatively with partner organizations to provide meaningful activities, education, training, and health and well-being opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with residents to develop and deliver a program of in-house meaningful activities based on client need and aspirations.
  • Assist support workers and service managers in developing the voice of residents in all aspects of our organization.
  • Identify partner agencies and organizations that provide meaningful activities, education, training, and employment opportunities, relevant to individual client need, and engage them in our program.
  • Engage with clients and the local community to promote activities and communicate with clients.
  • Work in partnership with support workers to address clients' feelings of isolation and social exclusion, breaking down barriers by providing a holistic support package and encouraging client involvement in the community.

About You

You will be a proactive and self-motivated individual with a can-do attitude, experience of working with homeless people or supporting vulnerable people or groups, and a proven capacity to deal successfully with difficult and complex situations.

Requirements:

  • Proactive and self-motivated with a can-do attitude.
  • Experience of or knowledge related to working with homeless people and/or supporting vulnerable people or groups.
  • Proven capacity to deal successfully with difficult and complex situations.
  • Track record of successful working with local community and voluntary sector, partner agencies, and recruiting, inducting, and supporting a range of volunteers.
  • Successful fundraising experience at a local community level.
  • Ability to build trusting, professional relationships and have a high level of resilience.
  • Take an asset-based approach to empowering people to develop their skills, strengths, and talents.
