Job Description

As our Quality Auditor, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality across our operations. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Coaching teams in food safety and quality standards, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborating with line and area coordinators to determine solutions that guarantee product safety and quality.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for food safety and quality issues in the bakery areas.
  • Managing non-conforming materials, preventing their release to customers.
  • Conducting regular Good Manufacturing Practice audits, Glass and Hard Plastic audits, and verifying manufacturing records.
  • Compiling and issuing audit reports, summarizing findings, and outlining requirements for corrective and preventive actions.
  • Investigating customer complaints, providing detailed reports on root causes and actions taken.
  • Ensuring sampling of products, materials, and environments is conducted according to schedules and sent to external laboratories.
  • Training updated quality system procedures and product information to relevant teams.
  • Reviewing competence on a periodic basis to ensure procedures and processes are understood, implemented, and effective.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Your success will be measured by achieving the following KPIs:

  • All CCP operatives on site are trained and assessed as competent.
  • Product analytical sampling is completed to plan.
  • Audits are conducted to plan, with actions agreed upon and close-out within timescales.
  • Non-conformances are addressed with agreed corrective and preventive actions, root cause, and within agreed timescales.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Organized time management.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills.
  • 2+ years of food manufacturing experience, preferably in a technical role.
  • Level 3 HACCP certification.
  • Level 3 Food Safety certification.
  • Auditor Qualification.
  • Recognized allergen qualification.
  • A basic understanding of customer codes of practice.
  • Training in root cause analysis methods and tools.
  • Train the trainer certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft packages, especially Excel.
