Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Children's Community Nursing Specialist to join our team at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide expert care to children and young people with complex needs, working closely with families and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide skilled, evidence-based nursing care to children and young people with acute, long-term, and complex conditions
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care and effective communication
  • Conduct thorough assessments, develop, and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate their effectiveness
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of policies and procedures that enhance patient care and safety
Requirements
  • Registered Children's Nurse (RSCN or RN Child Branch) with a strong background in community nursing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Ability to prioritize workload, manage competing demands, and maintain a high level of professionalism in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working with children with complex needs, including those with disabilities, chronic conditions, and life-limiting illnesses
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and practices, with the ability to recognize and respond to potential risks and concerns
