We are seeking a highly skilled Design Technology Teacher to join our team at New Directions Education. As a Design Technology Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching all areas of the school curriculum, including food technology and engineering. You will be expected to plan, prepare, and teach lessons that cater to all student ability ranges, motivate pupils with enthusiastic presentation, and maintain discipline.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Teaching all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
  • Organising the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
  • Planning, preparing, and teaching lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
  • Motivating pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
  • Maintaining discipline
  • Meeting requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils' development
  • Coordinating activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
  • Staying up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
  • Liaising with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools
