About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at HMP Ashfield, a category C male establishment prison in Pucklechurch near Bristol. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out routine HVAC and/or Mechanical Engineering work, preventative maintenance, and repairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out fault finding and defect rectification to items of installed plant and equipment as may be defined and specified.
  • Assist in multi-trade support of other members of the FM service team in completing work.
  • Escort contractors around the site as and when required in accordance with written procedures.
  • Carry out the installation of new plant and apparatus as may be defined and specified.
  • Carry out investigations into the performance of the plant and equipment installed in the site and to produce related reports and recommendations as may be required.
  • Become familiar with the operation and maintenance of the various systems and equipment installed in the whole of the premises as defined or requested.
  • To be aware of all Health & Safety Considerations on site.
  • To be part of a call-out rota and potential weekend working.
Requirements

The successful candidate must have an HVAC and/or Mechanical Engineering Qualification (C&G, NVQ) and be a member of a relevant technical professional body. They must also hold an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and have 3 years post-qualification experience. A flexible and proactive approach, with a commitment to customer satisfaction and continuous improvement, is essential.
