Job Description

As a Field Technician at C.W. Wright Construction Company, LLC., you will perform maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on trucks, off-road equipment, and aerial lift equipment in a safe, efficient, and quality-minded manner. Your key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Performing field and shop repair work on fleet units, including operation tests to verify complaints.
  • Conducting final operational tests on units to quality-check all repairs.
  • Performing inspections and preventive maintenance on units to maximize safety, productivity, and lifespan.

Your daily functions will include:

  • Performing DOT inspections.
  • Conducting annual safety inspections on units.
  • Examining vehicles to determine if additional safety or repair work is needed.
  • Maintaining and repairing aerial lift equipment and cranes to ensure safety and reliability.
  • Performing maintenance and periodic welding on equipment, subject to level of welding qualification.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • HD truck technical training or 2 years related experience.
  • A current and valid commercial driver's license (Class A or B) is a plus.
  • A valid medical card.
  • Knowledge of brakes and suspensions.
  • Familiarity with various vehicles and equipment, such as bucket trucks and digger/derricks.
  • Understanding of electrical systems on trucks and equipment.
  • Basic welding and cutting skills.

Working Conditions

This position requires frequent outdoor work and travel, approximately 95% within 2 hours of the Richmond area, and occasional onsite assistance in our shop. We provide heavy equipment and specialized tooling and test equipment.
