Main Responsibilities
  • To provide support to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Finance Director in delivering complex financial information to the legal and support areas of the business.
  • Produce monthly financial packs and drive follow-up meetings with directors for legal areas of the business.
  • Review detailed key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and future pipeline issues, working with legal directors to identify corrective action before any financial impact is evident.
  • Business partnering with legal directors, providing ad-hoc analysis and reporting to aid with case, financial, and capacity management.
  • Provide detailed commentary and recommendations where required to support key business decisions.
  • Be proactive, constantly looking for ways to help legal directors in running their departments effectively.
  • Ensure all reporting deadlines are met, providing adequate detail ahead of time.
  • Annual budget preparation and quarterly reforecasts.
  • Weekly financial and KPI reporting.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Fully qualified or finalist for CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent.
  • Advanced in Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to build relationships across all levels of the business, with the ability to work with both financial and non-financial teams.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility to respond to changing and emergent priorities.
Desirable Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
  • Experience in the legal sector.
  • Use of a case management system.
  • Commercially led.
