Lead Advanced Practitioner Sonographer Role at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust

We are seeking an exceptional Advanced Practitioner Sonographer Leader to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. This is a unique opportunity to take on a leadership role and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Job Responsibilities
  • To lead a team of advanced practitioners sonographers in the provision of specialist ultrasound services, including interventional procedures and advanced clinical practice.
  • To manage workload, prioritize tasks, and ensure effective communication with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • To contribute to the development and implementation of U/S protocols, research, and audit initiatives.
  • To provide training and development opportunities for staff, ensuring they reach their full potential.
Requirements
  • General science-based education to O and A level with a minimum of 1 science-based A level or equivalent.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Ultrasound, Radiography, or a related field.
  • Highly specialized ultrasound experience at an advanced level, including interventional procedures or skills above what is expected of a Band 7 sonographer.
  • Experience of managing a staff group at a senior level, with evidence of role extension and lead on audit or research.
